Synthesis

What are our choices?

These photographs are public domain from the Army Corps of Engineers Web site.

How can we make reasonable changes to improve things? Synthesis does not require sweeping, drastic modification.

When we are building an arbor, we can change height and complexity and color and location. Small changes can have gratifying effects.

When we are exploring ways to solve the problems of the Snake River, some people fall into simple camps of removing or leaving dams, while others realize that some dams are more of a problem than others and still others find ways of partially removing dams or reducing their damage.
