Squanderlust

I could squander
Each day
Like a treasure
Lost in wonder
I could awaken
Slowly
And gently
With nothing more
Or less
To do
But breakfast
On poems
Lunch
On daydreams
And dine
On loving smiles

I could squander
Each day
With you
As if each day
Were pearl
Or diamond
Our life together
The necklace
