On our first date

On our first date
Honey
Shall we touch
Kiss
and walk hand in hand
Along the river Seine
Like lovers have
For centuries?
Or shall we
Keep our distance
Two meters
At least
And blow kisses
Feign a hug or two
Waiting for test results
To prove each other safe?
Shall we remain prudent
Restrain the feelings
The desires
And the hunger
Inspired by weeks of waiting
Quarantined
As we were
In the same city
On the same street
Here
But locked down
And housebound
Waving from one balcony
To another?
