Feline Matters

I am learning
Late in life
To be more like my cats
Napping a bit more often
Scratching here and there
Digging my claws into the carpet of my life
Chasing after the invisible
The implausible
And the whimsical
Peering out the window
I keep my eye on passing fancies
Arch my back
As they do
And smile as the sun creeps
Inch by inch
From there
To here
Warming me
And them
Through the afternoon
Into the night
