Green with Storm

The Ocean
Raging
Turns green with storm
Envious
Perhaps
Of Mother Earth
Lying beached
Comfortably apart
Ashore

An old man
Barred from his bed
Locked out now
Before his time
Poseidon crashes mightily
Sending breakers pounding
Thundering
Rolling
Seemingly
To no avail

Until finally
Softening
She drops a shoulder
Here and there
Surrendering
Momentarily
Slip-sliding
Toward him
Landslide and wave
Embracing

Much later
His appetite appeased
The Ocean retreats
To lie still and calm
While she holds him
With gentle fingers
Loving arms
